The Jelenje Municipality, situated at the very border between coast and highlands, is an area of clean, almost unspoilt nature. The Rječina flowing here, with its source and upper flow is a popular meeting place of anglers and excursionists. Sportsmen visit the motor-sports racing track at Grobnik, Platak and Hahlić, and those who are fond of horses come to see the horse-riding club "Vodičajna" in Lukeži. No doubt one of the main attractions in the Jelenje area is the Martinovo Selo mill, one of the last mills in the Kvarner region.
