Kostrena
On your way from the interior to the Adriatic, you will experience the first immediate impact with the sea in Kostrena, situated in a bay, on the eastern edge of Rijeka. This place with a centuries-old maritime tradition, known for its many pebble and rock beaches, has been inhabited ever since Roman times. Today, in this part of the coast, in the bays Žurkovo, Svezanj and Podurinj are situated bathing resorts, tourist recreational zones and the place has also a well protected small port. To those fond of sports and recreation, Kostrena offers varied facilities and activities such as trim and jogging tracks, diving and sailing clubs. Kostrena is a summer resort for tourists seeking all the programmes a large town can offer, but who at the same time wish to enjoy peace and find accommodation far from the centre.
