OPATIJA RIVIERA
The Opatija Riviera is an elegant string of pearls represented by about ten glamorous localities. Among these pearls are also the shiniest ones – localities that used to attract European aristocracy to Opatija in the past. The shiniest pearl in this prestigious string is Opatija, «invented» to enable Austrian emperors and kings, archdukes and counts to stay at fashionable villas and hotels, to relax to the sound of the sea, amidst camellias and magnolias. Opatija is the Viennese Court on the sea and, by no coincidence, the birth place of Croatian tourism. A coastal path connects it with villas in Volosko and Ika, Ičići and Lovran, Medveja and Mošćenička Draga. Other paths leading to the mountain Učka, lead to beautiful spots offering breath-taking views of the whole riviera.

CRIKVENICA RIVIERA
The Crikvenica Riviera is an area that started to dream its tourist dream two centuries ago, when fashionable villas and hotels for aristocratic guests were built there. Crikvenica is therefore attractive owing to its touch of exclusivity recalling the times of royal heads, archdukes and baronesses. But it is equally as appealing because of its extraordinary beaches, clean sea, pleasant vegetation, clean air. In this it is whole-heartedly assisted by other localities on the riviera, such as Jadranovo, Selce and Dramalj. Each of these places has found its own way of attracting the tourists and encouraging them to return to this part of Kvarner again.

NOVI VINODOLSKI RIVIERA
The Novi Vinodolski Riviera is a combination of exceptional cultural historic heritage and of alluring attractions inherited from Mother Nature. Novi Vinodolski, the biggest place on the Riviera, is the town of Vinodolski zakonik (The Vinodol Codex - the oldest Croatian legal document), of the Mažuranić family (who has given writers, even governors to Croatia for two centuries). In the town and its hinterland there is a whole chain of Frankopan castles. Nature's generous hand has added a beneficial climate, numerous beaches connected with promenades, a pleasant forest environment and fresh air from the mountain hinterland.

RIJEKA AREA
The Rijeka area is a geographical region in which its traffic, administrative, economic and cultural forces converge. Rijeka, the biggest Kvarner town attracts tourist attention owing to the fact that it used to be the stage of interesting historic events in the past. An intriguing proof of this is also its preserved cultural heritage, ranging from museum exhibits to numerous palaces. It is the town where the torpedo was invented, where a photograph of a bullet in mid-air was taken for the first time, where the father of Croatian opera was born. The dynamic rhythm of Rijeka and the more relaxed one in neighbouring localities such as Kraljevica and Kostrena, Bakar and Kastav, Jelenje and Čavli, instill a sensation of pleasant life balance to the whole area.
