Rijeka Astronomy Center: A Gaze at the Stars

The Rijeka Astronomy Center (Astronomski centar Rijeka) is located on the hill of Sveti Križ (Saint Cross), only three kilometers from the center of Rijeka. Many of its characteristics make it unique in this part of Europe. Covering 900 square meters, including both open and closed spaces, the center features a planetarium, a stargazing room, a small and a large hall, a multimedia workshop and a panoramic roof terrace. The Astronomy Center has a digital planetarium and a stargazing room with a telescope and represents an exceptional attraction for tourists to whom programs in several languages are offered. It is interesting that two variable stars have been found while gazing from the Rijeka stargazing room. The Rijeka planetarium is part of the International Planetarium Society (IPS).
