KVARNER IN FIGURES

Today, in the third century of tourism, Kvarner is one of the most developed tourist regions.
It has 173.000 fixed accommodation capacities, of which 20.000 in hotels, 38.000 in campsites, 82.500 in private accommodation and 32.500 in other facilities. In the Kvarner region there are in total 104 hotels, 42 campsites and 14.600 family households providing services to the tourists.

An important part of the overall tourist service in the Kvarner region is also accounted for by 29 nautical tourist ports and 16 marinas, of which 8 are modern and well equipped marinas with 3.135 berths at sea and 8 marinas with 1.821 dry berths. In the Kvarner marinas from Ičići, Opatija, Punat on the island of Krk, Cres, Mali Lošinj, to Supetarska Draga on the island of Rab and Rab, there is also the possibility to rent a boat. The annual occupancy rate of Kvarner marinas amounts to 68% and more than 28.000 transit sailings-in are recorded.
Accommodation capacities in the Kvarner area make up about 20% of the total tourist capacities in Croatia, and this tourist area records 1/5 of the total tourist turnover in Croatia – something more than 2,3 million guests, it realizes more than 11,2 million overnight stays per year (data for the year 2007), of which 87% are foreign guests. The most important tourist generating markets are Germany, Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Austria, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
