1732 - Karolina road construction was completed (named after King Charles VI) - the connector of the Croatia mainland with the coastal zone via central part of Gorski Kotar
1809 - Lujzijana - a new, substantially wider and faster communication of Gorski Kotar - a road built during the Napoleon Empire and named after his second wife, Empress Marie Louise, daughter of Frances I of Austria
1873 - a railway constructed from Rijeka to Karlovac passing through Gorski Kotar
1874 - the year of the first organized tourist journey by train to Fužine with a whole-day programme
1879 - first inns in Delnice were opened (“Jurčekovi”, “Rački” 1885, “Čop” 1890)
1898 - first tourist postcards were published
1900 - the hotel “Croatia” is the first hotel built in Gorski Kotar
1913 - the first three-day ski course in Mrkopalj
1920 - “Munjara” in Zeleni Vir was the first hydropower plant built in Gorski Kotar
1921 - the hotel “Zeleni Vir” was built in Skrad
1924 - the hotel “Tomislav” was built in Delnice
1934 - the first Croatian ski jump was erected in Mrkopalj
1936 - the ski jump was opened on Vučnik in Delnice
1952 - the hotel “Lovački Dom” was opened on the Japlenški Vrh (Peak) and the mountain lodge in Petehovac in Delnice.
