Lopar nurtures a long tradition of celebrating the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary on 8 September. On this day, pilgrims and visitors start gathering around the church of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary from very early in the morning and Mass is celebrated at 10 am, 3 pm and 5 pm. 

All-day programme includes: pilgrimage to the Virgin Mary Church, holy mass, celebration in the tent, music and entertainment programme, folklore performances, food and drinks, bowling tournament and a small league football tournament, shopping opportunities...
