During the summer months, Rijeka’s squares, streets and terraces become a theatre stage. Famous city locations, as well as places which even the citizens of Rijeka can hardly imagine could be turned into the backdrop for actors and theatre equipment, are for few weeks given over to artists of the most varied music and scenic expressions. The Festival Programme ranges from a performance of classical drama, premieres of new dramas and classical music concerts to the street theatre performances and show business stars’ concerts. The unavoidable part of the Festival is where the modern relationship between industrial architecture and theatre meet so that some of the shows take place in the areas of past industrial plants.
