Prize-awarding Meeting of the Kastav Region Winemakers has been established in an attempt to preserve the centuries-old winemaking tradition of the region. Kastav region is renowned for belica, the authentic white wine of the region which is made from the grapes that grow in the Kastav’s Karst land vineyards. To preserve this indigenous grape variety Belica Wine Lovers Association has been established.

The meeting & victory ceremony is traditionally held on the Sunday after Easter Sunday.

This year, the meeting & ceremony will be held on Fortica at 2 p.m.

Ceremony is followed by an exhibiton which includes tasting of local wines and local specialities.
