Events calendar

The festival is one of the largest gastronomical events in Kvarner and Croatia. It is organized by the municipalities of Čavle and Jelenje in Grobnik. It is held in remembrance of the time when the residents of the area had a strong connection to nature and fed their families the fruits of their labour.  The festival's highlight is the cooking of a massive amount of 500 kilograms of polenta in a 700-litre pot (pinjata). When polenta is done, it is poured on a 3-meters-wide wooden plate (taruj). Even a specially made crane is used for the occasion!
