Krk Sails is the first and oldest regatta of traditional wooden boats on the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea. It always takes place on the same date, on the Feast of the Assumption - August 15th, in the Krk bay. This picturesque regatta first took place in 1998 thanks to the members of the Plav Sailing Club from Krk. This is the oldest sailing association in Croatia. Founded in 1876, it proudly celebrated its 140th anniversary in 2016.
Over time, Krk Sails grew into a multi-day event with rich sports, cultural, entertainment, gastronomic, and educational contents, honouring the sea and maritime heritage of the island of Krk
Organized by the Plav Sailing Club, the City of Krk Tourist Board and the City of Krk, supported by the partners, Krk Sails will celebrate its 25th jubilee edition this year. On the occasion of the Jubilee , the program of the event was additionally enriched, but also extended to a total of seven days and will last from August 13th to August 20th.
During the seven days of the event, visitors will be able to view an exciting exhibition of photographs of maritime motifs as the event's time machine, try rowing and sailing, and explore the rich history of the maritime heritage of the island of Krk, as well as enjoy an entertainment programme starring pianist Zvjezdan Ružić, male vocal group Kampanel, and male vocal group Rišpet with Ivo Amulić.

Outdoor exhibition 25 years of Krk Sails - regatta of traditional boats, Krk waterfront
This exhibition, which marks the 25th anniversary of the Krk Sails regatta, documents its history in the photography medium, from the very beginnings to the present days. The exhibition includes photographs by Luka Tabako, Borut Brozović, Luka Šolman, Igor Gržetić, Vladimir Kalinić and Milo Miklaušić, as well as several postcards and photographs by unknown authors, taken from the archives of the Plav Sailing Club, the City of Krk Tourist Board and the City of Krk.
