"Vino i vruja" - the tradition of taking out submerged wine

Ika, a small fisherman's village, located near Opatija, for the last eight years is a host to the unique event called "Vino i Vruja" (Wine and the Underwater Wellspring).
During this two-day event from the underwater wellsprings on 20 meter sea-depth, after a year spend underwater, a 4.000 bottles of wine will be brought up to the surface and new 5.000 bottles will be submerged.
The wine tasting, entertaniment programme and regatta of traditional sail boats is also organized.
