On November 11th, Grižane celebrate their local holiday - Martinja, i.e. St. Martin`s Day - patron and guardian of winemakers and vineyards.
According to an old traditional Croatian custom, this is the day that mošt (grape must) turns into wine. This Croatian holiday has been cherished since the 17th century.
