August is the ideal time for one of the oldest swimming marathons in Croatia. For more than a hundred years, the Šilo-Crikvenica swimming marathon has taken place every year on 15th August, the feast of the Assumption of Mary, the patron saint of Crikvenica. The 3.5 km route between Šilo on the island of Krk and Crikvenica on the coast is open to participants that are professional long-distance swimmers from Croatia and abroad but also to recreational swimming enthusiasts.

Online registrations are open until August 8th 2024 at noon. Prior registration is required and is possible via online aplication HERE.

Start of the marathon is at 5 p.m. in Šilo.
