Big OM is one of the oldest and biggest fishing competitions in Croatia that specializes in big game fishing. A group of passionate fishermen were convinced it would be a success - and they were not mistaken. The Omišalj Big OM continuously attracts both new fishing enthusiasts looking for unforgettable big game experiences and fishermen who know that the biggest tuna in the Adriatic can be found in these waters.

Approximately 150 competitors, divided into over 40 crews, will showcase their fishing skills, knowledge, and luck in the Kvarner Gulf, competing for direct placement in the elite world big game fishing cup in Costa Rica. Catches of large fish such as swordfish are expected, but special attention will be focused on the most coveted catch - tuna, which brings the most points and joy to competitors. The "catch and release" rule will be applied, while the largest specimens may be kept, and this year's tuna catch quota is around 1.500 kilograms.

The competition will be officially opened by the band Vatra with a concert on Wednesday, August 28th, further heating up the atmosphere. Public weighing, entertainment, and a gastronomic offer of tuna delicacies will be held in the Omišalj port.
