Spring brings a vibrant blend of colors, art, and outdoor activities to Opatija! In April, the city will be filled with the fragrance of flowers, music, creativity, and wellness, inviting everyone to enjoy a unique fusion of tradition, culture, and recreation – from Easter celebrations, floral installations, and garden festivals to mindfulness exercises and Nordic walking tours.
🌿 April begins with activities in the fresh air, and from April 7–13, Opatija will shine in the spirit of the camellia, the flower symbolizing its elegance. The Camellia Festival offers exhibitions, workshops, and cultural events for visitors to enjoy.
🚶 Nordic walking enthusiasts can join guided tours on April 5, 19, and 26, while on April 12, Opatija will host the Croatian Festival of Nordic Walking & Hiking, bringing together recreational athletes from across the country.
🧘 The month will end with mindfulness exercises in nature on April 27, providing a unique opportunity for relaxation in Opatija’s stunning setting.
🐣 EASTER IN OPATIJA (April 18–21) brings a rich program of music, tradition & fun. Enjoy live performances in the open air, including klapa groups, acoustic bands, and the Lovran Brass Orchestra. The festive atmosphere is enhanced by an oldtimer exhibition, children’s creative workshops, and Easter Bunny fun. Events will take place in Angiolina Park, Slatina, and Portić.
💐 FLORAL WEEK OPATIJA (April 22–27) returns, bringing a touch of creativity & elegance! Now in its third year, this international artistic event showcases top floral designers, including Roman Shtengauer, Vincenzo Antonuccio, Giuseppe Contartese, Marilena Calbini, Simon Ogrizek, and Christina Cianci Žerić. Inspired by Impressionism, the festival celebrates flowers as a symbol of fleeting beauty.
🌺 The highlight will be the Floral Fashion Event, where wearable floral installations merge fashion & dance, featuring performers from HNK Ivana pl. Zajca, Rijeka.
🌸 Professional florists & designers can join the exclusive "Story of the Bridal Bouquet" masterclass, led by renowned international floral artists.
🌷 From April 16–19, a flower market on Slatina Beach will showcase a variety of floral delights!
🌿 JARDIN – OPATIJA’S GARDENING FESTIVAL (April 25–27) returns for its third edition in Angiolina Park. Expect a market with seasonal flowers, eco-workshops, and garden art activities:
