Join us for the Cres Lamb and Cheese Festival, the festive opening of the “Cres on a Plate” project – a celebration of the island's finest local ingredients and rich culinary tradition!
🍽 Enjoy a variety of local specialties:
Lamb stew (žgvacet), braised lamb, and scrambled eggs with udić (sheep prosciutto)
Sheep and goat cheeses from the Loznati Dairy
Two-meter-long olive bread
Grilled lamb sausages, lamb pâté, salami, and sheep prosciutto from Mesnica Cres
The traditional Cres dessert olito – a unique treat made with raisins, lamb fat, figs, lemon, rum, vanilla, sugar, salt, and flour, baked in fresh olive oil and topped with fig marmalade
👩🍳 Dishes will be prepared by: Pramenka Association, Cres Italian Community, and Cres Retirees' Association.
🎨 Take part in a felting workshop where you'll make a flower from Cres wool, organized by the Ruta Association.
🎤 Enjoy a live performance by popular singer Luka Nižetić!
🐑 Discover the uniqueness of Cres lamb and cheese – produced from sheep that graze freely across the island’s pastures, feeding on aromatic herbs enriched by the sea breeze and island bora wind. These products are known for their exceptional taste and quality.
🌿 Distribution of seedlings for private renters from the City of Cres Tourist Board area will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Summer Cinema (Creskog statuta 15, Cres). Each renter will receive 5 seedlings as a gift. Please bring an ID or other identification document.
🍴 The “Cres on a Plate” project runs from April 26 to June 8, offering a variety of themed events – from guided tours through centuries-old olive groves and sage fields, to the presentation of a signature cake and the beloved Creski kaić with seafood delicacies.
