Get ready for the most aromatic and joyful event in the Grobnik region!
Palenta kompirica (creamy cornmeal with potatoes) and Grobnik cheese – flavors that nourished generations – are celebrated each year in grand style at the beloved Festival of Palenta and Cheese!

🍽️ What to expect?
🔸 Cooking of the giant 500 kg palenta in a massive 700-liter cauldron – a spectacle not to be missed!
🔸 Over 20 chefs stir the palenta with oar-sized paddles, pouring it onto a 3-meter-wide wooden plate (taruj)!
🔸 Tastings, local cheese, traditional products, souvenirs, and authentic Grobnik hospitality!

🎶 Festival Program:
🕒 15:00 – Potato peeling competition
🕔 17:00 – Lighting the fire
🕕 18:00 – Official opening & Kvarner wine tasting

🎼 Live performances by:
• Sirius Dance Center
• KUD Zvir folklore group
• Sabbatini accordion class
🎨 Traditional children’s games & art workshop – organized by “Our Children” Society Čavle
🎬 19:00 – Documentary film screenings on sheep farming and cheese making in Grobnik
🎊 20:00 – THE BIG FINALE: Pouring the palenta!
🎤 21:00 – Concert: MEJAŠI & Fiesta Band – dance the night away with great live music!
