In honour of St. Margaret, the town’s patron saint, a rich programme awaits this weekend – from spiritual events and local traditions to the spectacular re-enactment of the Maritime Battle and top music performances!
📅 Saturday, 12 July 2025
🧗♂️ 9:00 – Hiking to Risnjak
Departure from Vilje. Free entry to Risnjak National Park for all participants (organised by PD Bakar).
🎪 17:00 – St. Margaret’s Fair on the promenade
Local products and souvenirs on display.
👨👩👧👦 19:00 – Children’s Corner in the Town Garden
Creative and fun programme for kids and families.
🎖️ 21:00 – Laying of wreaths & ceremonial army parade
🚢 22:30 – Maritime Battle
A breathtaking historical re-enactment of the 1616 naval victory over the Venetians – one of the most spectacular tourist events on the Adriatic!
⚓ Don’t miss: the famous Lošinj sailing ship "Nerezinac" (a floating museum) moored all day on Masaryk's waterfront.
🎶 23:00 – Concert: Tonči Huljić & Madre Badessa + Infinity Band

🙏 10:00 – Solemn Mass at St. Andrew’s Church
Music by the parish of Narda (Burgenland, Hungary) and choir Lastavica (concert after Mass).
🙏 18:00 – Traditional mass at St. Margaret’s Church
Celebrated by Bakar dean, Rev. Marko Šarić, accompanied by the town cantor.
🎶 21:00 – Concert: Klapa Iskon (vocal group)

➡️ 19:00 – 23:00: Industrial Zone – Bakar (2 minibuses, approx. every 20 min)
➡️ 00:00 – 03:00: Galerija Bakar – Bakar (departure in front of Admiral club)
🕐 Last departure from Bakar: around 2:30 a.m.
🚧 Traffic notice:
On Saturday, 12 July, road traffic through Bakar will be closed from 17:00 to 02:00, and maritime traffic will be suspended near the promenade due to the battle performance.
👉 We recommend using public transport, taxi or free mini bus to avoid traffic jams.
