Dubašljan Gastronomy: the richness of the forest in words and taste

This September, Malinska becomes the stage for the unique event Dubašljan Gastronomy: in honour of Friar Karlo, bringing together local language, gastronomy and landscape under one common thread – Dubašljan culture.

This year’s theme is dedicated to the fruits of the forest – natural and agricultural resources that have nourished the local community for centuries. Hare, peach, acorn, fennel and amul become an inspiration for contemporary dishes where tradition meets creativity.

🍴 The special gastronomic touch is provided by chef Marin Pleše (Vila Rova restaurant, Michelin Guide 2025), whose interpretation of forest fruits will present Dubašljan tradition in a modern way.

🌿 The event includes lectures, exhibitions, panel discussions and tastings, while the main programme takes place on Saturday, 13 September, featuring:
🛍 fair of local Krk products (10:00 – 22:00)
🍽 gastro journey into the forest (from 18:00) with music and Fučić’s text performed by Iva Šabalja

🎶 On your plates you will find delicacies of hare, mushrooms and acorns – true representatives of the Dubašljan forest.

👉 The programme also includes:
· lecture on the Brseč peach (11.9.)
· opening of the photo exhibition “Biodiversity and Agro-biodiversity” (11.9.)
· lecture on the acorn as a forgotten treasure (12.9.)
· panel discussion “From forest to plate” (13.9.)
