🎭 Carnival in the Bakar Area 2026

The Bakar area once again comes alive with the rhythm of carnival time, bell ringers, tradition and great fun! From mid-January to mid-February, towns across the City of Bakar will be filled with carnival dances, children’s parades, creative masks, the burning of the Mesopust and joyful celebrations for all generations.

The programme begins on 10 January with the ringing of the Kukuljan Bell Ringers through Kukuljanovo, Škrljevo, Plosna and Ponikve, followed by the first carnival dance in Zlobin on the same day.

Throughout the carnival season, visitors can enjoy:
🎉 children’s parades in Bakar, Hreljin, Škrljevo and Krasica
🔔 the ringing of the Kukuljan Bell Ringers across the entire Bakar area
💃 carnival dances with live music
🔥 traditional Mesopust burning ceremonies in several locations
