🎭 Masquerades Take Over Crikvenica – The Happiest Time of the Year Begins! 🎉

On Saturday, 10 January, Crikvenica will officially hand over the keys of the city to the Masquerades! With laughter, music and dance, the carnival flag will be raised, marking the start of a season filled with tradition, joy and carefree fun. After the ceremonial handover of power, the first carnival gathering of the year will take place in Matkovići, where carnival groups from the Crikvenica Riviera and the surrounding area, accompanied by drums, accordions, singing and dancing, will symbolically chase away winter and welcome spring.
Throughout the carnival season, visitors can enjoy a rich programme featuring parades, concerts, children’s activities, carnival gatherings and themed walks.

24 January – Concert by Maja Šuput (tent in the city centre)
25 January – Grand and Children’s Carnival Parade + Grooversi & Trend
31 January – Concert by Jole
7 February – Carnival party with the band Ljubavnici
18 February – Reading of the verdict and burning of the Mesopust
Masquerades in Crikvenica 2026 invite everyone to put on a mask, embrace the festive spirit and become part of one of the most vibrant and long-standing traditions of the region.
