Travel back to Opatija's golden age: Rich history, tradition, and culture come alive on the town streets

The Opatija Tourism Board once again transforms the town into a magnificent stage of bygone eras through the popular summer program "Opatija Time Travel" (Opatijski vremeplov)! Every week, from Monday to Friday, visitors can enjoy a series of free, attractive events blending traditional music, historical tales, folklore, and authentic maritime heritage. Experience Opatija in a completely different way and feel the spirit of its aristocratic past at the town's most beautiful locations.

📅 WEEKLY PROGRAM (FREE ADMISSION & EVENTS):

• Monday (7:30 pm – 9:00 pm) | Klapa Evenings: Traditional a cappella singing from the coastal region in front of the Juraj Šporer Art Pavilion, performed by klapas Baladur, Opatija, and Mirakul.

• Tuesday (7:30 pm – 10:00 pm, from June 16 to Aug 25) | Oldtimer Exhibition: A showcase of historic cars organized by the Liburnia Classic Club in front of the Hotel Milenij.

• Wednesday (from 8:00 pm) | Costumed History Walks: Guided tours in English starting from the Lungomare promenade (below Hotel Milenij). Meet famous historical figures such as Isadora Duncan, Stephanie Glax, Queen Carmen Sylva, and Friedrich Julius Schüler.

• Thursday (8:00 pm – 8:45 pm) | Folklore Performance by FA Zora: Traditional dances and Liburnian choreography in front of the Juraj Šporer Art Pavilion.

• Friday (from 8:00 pm) | Traditional Gajeta Boat Ride: Explore Opatija from a maritime perspective with a licensed guide in English and German. Departure from the Opatija harbor (registration required via email: madonnina.bonaca@gmail.com).
