Novi Vinodolski and Vinodol Municipality revive one of the most beautiful historic traditions of Kvarner! 👑🍷 Inspired by the Frankopan legend of choosing the most hardworking and beautiful grape-picker as "Ružica", this festival blends heritage, winemaking, competition, and live music.
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Due to predicted bad weather, events originally scheduled for Thursday (Aug 20) and Friday (Aug 21) are canceled. The full competitive and entertainment program will take place on Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23.
📜 EVENT PROGRAM:
SATURDAY, AUGUST 22 (Old Town Novi Vinodolski)
• 9:00 pm – Start of the Competition: 9 candidates test their traditional homemaking and wine skills alongside Trio Arka (Old Town)
• Evening Lineup:
• Live music: Petar Dragojević & Trio Mirakul (Frankopanski Square)
• Wine Festival: Tastings from top Croatian wine regions
• Gastronomy: Presentation of the authentic local dish Novljanski pijat
• Traditional Crafts Fair: Demonstrations of basketry, blacksmithing, pottery, woodcarving, and traditional games (Vinodol Law Square)
SUNDAY, AUGUST 23 (Pavlomir Winery)
• 8:00 pm – Vineyard Competition: Candidates showcase winemaking and harvesting skills in the vineyard
• Music & Food: Live music by Insula and Trio Nebuloza with local food and wine offerings
• 11:00 pm – 🏆 Crowning Ceremony: Announcement of Ružica Vinodola 2026 and awards presentation
