Epario trail spreads along the coast of Lopar and is suitable for recreationists and families with children. Alongside numerous archaeological sites that indicate this area having been intensely used in the past, especially in prehistoric times and the Antiquity, the trail reveals breath-taking geologic structures. It is because of its geologic importance and immense diversity that the north-east part of Lopar is now protected in Croatia as a landscape of particular significance. We suggest you take your time along this trail, visit some of the picturesque coves and pause for refreshment during warmer months in pristine seas.

Frux trail connects Lopar and Supetarska Draga both ways and is suitable for hikers and MTB cyclists. It is a part of a path known as Premužić's trail, a masterpiece of dry-stone wall building. Alongside archaeologically significant sections, you will come across dry-stone walls that indicate this area, rich in fertile soil and water sources, once having been extensively used for agricultural purposes. Particularly interesting natural and geologic features near the trail include Fruška lokva (pond) and fascinating soil erosions. Be sure to stop at Fruga area and have a closer look at them.

Capo fronte trail spreads along the most forested area on the island – Dundo, a special reserve of forest vegetation, and Kalifront peninsula covered in oak forest. Besides remains of medieval churches, dry-stone walls, lime kilns, bauxite quarries, and other sites indicating the area having been extensively used in the past, this area stands out for the most well-preserved oak forest in the Mediterranean. The trail is suitable for recreationists and families with children, to whom we suggest an all-day field trip with a swim in one of the picturesque coves. Who knows, if you’re lucky, you might even run into a mouflon (wild sheep) or a deer.

Start from the centre of Viškovo along the road towards Saršoni and turn left after 1.7 km towards Ronjgi. Pass by the native house of I. M. Ronjgov and continue to reach the village of Zorzići where, on the Petrolejska road, turn left and continue in the direction of Klana. Immediately after the natural gas station on Pogled (View) turn left to the forest trail and after 5 km you will reach the village of Breza. Just before arriving in Breza you will encounter the interesting remains of fortification constructions from the period of Italian occupation as, precisely in this area the border between the Kingdom of Italy and the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (Yugoslavia) once passed. When you exit to the Permani - Klana road above the village of Breza, turn left and go into the centre of the village where, you turn left by the church. Pass the cemetery and the old Italian barracks to reach the crossroads (9.2 km) where you turn left and riding along an interesting forest trail you will reach the village of Jardasi (12.2 km). Cross the main road and passing through Dovičići you will reach Široli (14.4 km) where you cross the Kastav – Viškovo road and along the minor road behind the school and sports hall you will reach the centre of Viškovo.

When riding on this trail, you can visit the Viškovo centre along the minor roads and forest trails and by doing so you will not even feel you are in the middle of a highly urbanized area. Start from the centre of Viškovo in the direction of Furićevo where you turn left and easily ride up over Trtni to reach Mladenići (1.8 km). Cross the Viškovo-Saršoni road and ride along the old vehicle route to reach Ilovac (2.9 km), then cross the Viškovo - Marčelji road and through Mavri continue to Gornji Sroki. Then you ride down to Sroki kal where you turn right and continue in the direction of Kastav. Pass through Rudno, Krajevac and Jelušići. For those cyclists in better shape, in Gornji Turki (7.1 km) you can turn right towards Jelovičani and riding the steep ascent you can enter the Lužina forest. Through a more challenging forest trail reach Pavletići and exit at Žegoti on the Kastav – Viškovo road. If you choose the easier option then continue straight on to Gornji Turki and exit on the Kastav - Viškovo road where you then turn right and after 0.3 km turn left towards the petrol station. On the right of the petrol station turn into an interesting forest trail that will take you to Donji Jugi (10.1 km). With a gentle ride up through Gornji Jugi you will reach the centre of Viškovo.

From the centre of Viškovo start through Mladenići in the direction of Saršoni (2.5 km) where you turn left to the Petrolejska road and immediately turn right towards Lučići. After a short ascent you will reach the Lončeva griža pass (3.5 km – 490 m). Through a series of bends you will ride down to reach the village of Trnovica (7.1 km), cross over the Rječina River and turn left through Zoretići towards Kukuljani. Before arriving in the village (8.1 km) turn right onto the gravel road that follows the upstream flow of the Rječina River’s source (11.0 km). After relaxation and refreshment, go back following the same route to reach the Lončev griž pass (18 km), ride down to Saršoni where you turn right and continue along Petrolejska road to reach Garići (20.5 km) where you turn left and through Marčelji ride down to the centre of Viškovo.

From the centre of Viškovo start cycling through Mladenići in the direction of Saršoni (2.5 km) where you will turn left to the Petrolejska road along which you continue to reach Zorzići (3.6 km) where you turn right and start riding up on the old vehicle route towards Studena passing through Nežnice. On this trail there are several attractions worthy of mention: the walled pond where the inhabitants of this area used to bring their cattle to water and the monument dating back to the Second World War reminding us that this route was once used by those who were joining the partisan army as well as being the trail through which the partisan units were supplied. After 6.5 km you will exit to the main road leading to Studena. This is, at the same time, the highest point of this road: 578 m. Turn left and ride down to the Petrolejska road and then turn left again towards Marčelji. In the area called Pogled (View) (9.3 km) turn right and ride down through Marčelji to Vrtača (10.0) km where you turn right towards Kosi (11.0 km). Turn right towards Kastav to reach the village of Jardasi (11.6 km) where you turn left and passing through Dovičići you will reach the Kastav – Viškovo road in Široli (13.6 km). Cross the road and along the minor road behind the primary school and sports hall turn back to the centre of Viškovo.

An ideal family trail that will take you from the centre of Viškovo, along the road, towards Saršoni. After 2 km turn left to reach the famous Ronjgi excursion point, which is the birthplace of Ivan Matetić Ronjgov, the great musician and collector of the folk music heritage in whose native home is a museum dedicated to him together with a famous restaurant offering homemade specialities. From Ronjgi ride up steeply to reach Zorzići, cross the Petrolejska road and, through Globići, continue the ascent to the forest crossing (3.3 km) that is also the highest point of this trail (481 m). Then turn right and after a gentle downhill ride pass through Lučići to reach the Saršoni – Trnovica road where you turn right into Petrolejska road along which you continue in the direction of Drenova. Just before Skvažići (5.6 km) turn right to the forest path, that is, to the Plešivac walking path along which you will ride until you reach the village of Biškupi (7.5 km). Whilst exiting the village turn onto the Viškovo – Saršoni road, then turn left and ride down through Mladenići back to the centre of Viškovo.
