The Glass Chapel – a valuable monument of sacral and architectural heritage
Novi Vinodolski
The Glass Chapel of the Holy Cross is a sacral and architectural monument of unique value. Its metal construction is walled up by a glass facade and roof and it constitutes a rare example of Secession-style sacral architecture.
It is believed that the owner of the estate, a certain Petar Krpan called Samac (Loner) had it constructed at the beginning of the 20th century.
As the chapel was frequently in use, a stone circular-layout cistern was built near it, fenced in by a low stone water-well and encircled by dry-walls.
The glass chapel is situated in the village Omar in the Luka Krmpotska area, an area administratively connected to the town of Novi Vinodolski.
