Kamačnik is a protected canyon of the Kamačnik river not far from the town of Vrbovsko.
The canyon leads through the gorge cut in the Velika Kapela massif and flows into the Dobra river, and the approximately three kilometre long path can be crossed by means of strolling tracks and wooden bridges unveiling the full strength of its wild beauty. However, the continuation of the path brings new surprises – the deep dark lake that is at the same time the spring of Kamačnik (410 m). The river mouth can be easily reached by car or railway, and the place offers possibilities for active holidays and excursions.
