The Lokve lake is the biggest lake in Gorski kotar. It is 40 meters deep and covers 2.1 kilometres. It is both natural and manmade.
Located in the immediate vicinity of the picturesque locality of Lokve, it extends up to the foot of the mountain Risnjak. The lake is surrounded by woods, which adds significantly to its beauty. The shores are arranged for both summer bathers and for all yearlong strollers and fishermen who hope that their name will also become part of the fishing legend. Namely, just here one of the biggest trouts in the world was caught.
