St. Nicolas Church – Brod Moravice
Brod Moravice
One of the oldest churches in Gorski kotar is the single-nave St. Nicolas Church in Brod Moravice. The inscription above its entrance bears the year 1434, as year of its construction, although the church owes its present appearance to the reconstruction which took place in 1834.
It is assumed that below the stone plate are the graves of some members of the Zrinski family, and its most significant feature is the big stone stronghold Turanj - Turn, that Prince Zrinski had built by the end of the 16th century, as defense against the Turks.
